Episode 1 Part 1


Earlier on I have scheduled today being the 19th of November 2023 as a day set out for the beginning of a series with the aforementioned title. Really, I cannot recollect of the good works of Dr GOC (Ikenga 1 of Igbo land) but I think I should start from the most recent. After all, I owe nobody (including GOC himself) any apology as am bearing the eloquent testimonies of his good works to humanity and if he feels I should not talk about it, he should stop doing good publicly.


Not quite long, He was honored and excited to announce his appointment as a Member of the Governing Council at Havila University, Nde-Ikom, Cross River State, Nigeria.  This is a feat that Only few individual can attain without political inclination. He has been going about doing good to people not knowing that the eagle eyes are seeing him and I dare you to mention one person who is like Ikenga 1 of Igbo land.


NOW WHO IS A GOVERNING COUNCIL MEMBER OF ANY INSTITUTION?


The Council is comprised of a Chairman appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, and other prominent members from diverse fields of expertise.


The Council's primary mission is to establish policies and make decisions affecting the institution's academic, administrative, and financial issues. This includes approving the university's annual budget, supervising staff recruiting and promotion, approving new academic programs, and ensuring that the university functions in accordance with its goal and objectives.


The nomination of the Vice-Chancellor is one of the Council's most important tasks. The Vice-Chancellor is the university's chief executive officer and is in charge of the institution's day-to-day operations. The Council is in charge of ensuring that the Vice-Chancellor is appointed on merit and that he or she is capable of providing the essential leadership to propel the university forward.


While I don't want to bore you with many definitions in this early beginning of this series, I make bold to tell you that GOC is beyond what we call him (O kariri Ihe Asị na obu). He has distinguished himself beyond human comprehension (Okwadoro õfüma)
